Art Attack heads to Argentina

Art Attack, the UK kids format that has been seen in 32 countries and localised in six territories, is now heading for a Latin American makeover.

Disney Channel Latin America has struck a deal with Hit Entertainment for a local version of the series and marks the first time that Art Attack will be produced outside of the UK.

Production will start in Argentina and will be localised for the Latin American market, featuring new art projects and utilising art styles/materials popular in the region.

Art Attack first began in the UK in 1989. The original UK production – still the longest running series on CITV – was hosted by Neil Buchanan and features do-it-yourself art projects.

“Art Attack is an award-winning, iconic series that speaks to the inner-artist in everyone and helps build self-esteem through self-expression,” said Rodrigo Piza, vice president broadcast Canada, Latin America and Hispanic US and Live Events & Sponsorships, Latin America for Hit Entertainment.

“We look forward to working closely with the Disney Channel in Argentina to produce the new versions of the show.”

A dubbed version of the series has aired in the region on Disney Channel Latin America since 2002.
