I’m super excited to share that Adyen is joining the newly launched x402 Foundation (within the Linux Foundation) to help establish a universal standard for payments over HTTP. As we enter the era of agentic commerce, open and interoperable standards will be critical - not just for enabling AI agents to transact, but for ensuring those transactions deliver real value for merchants. At Adyen, our role in the Foundation is grounded in that perspective: advocating for merchant outcomes at every step. We are committed to shaping these standards so that payments over HTTP uphold the trust, transparency, and reliability that businesses depend on, ensuring merchants can confidently participate in, and benefit from, the shift toward autonomous commerce.
