I got 90 interviews in 90 days, and it all started with one thing: Looking at my LinkedIn data. When I was starting out, I didn’t fully understand the differences between Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, and Machine Learning Engineer roles. My LinkedIn wasn’t clear either, so I kept getting interviews for all of them.  -> Data Analyst: The role I’d land when I was desperate to just get something. -> Data Engineer: Cool-sounding, but not aligned with my stats degree or career goals. -> Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer: These are the dream roles, but my profile wasn’t speaking to them. My LinkedIn wasn’t targeted, so I got mismatched opportunities. That’s when I realized the power of LinkedIn analytics. Here’s what I did:  1, Checked Search Appearances: I looked at which roles and keywords were finding me. 2, Adjusted My Profile: Added terms like “Machine Learning” and “Predictive Analytics” and removed irrelevant mentions of “Data Analyst.” 3, Updated Skills: Added keywords aligned with the roles I wanted, even for skills I was actively learning. 4, Iterated: Made tweaks based on what the data showed me. The result: My profile started attracting the exact roles I wanted. You can do this too!  -> Go to LinkedIn Analytics > Search Appearances. -> Check which roles and keywords are leading people to your profile. -> Align your profile with your target roles — no fluff, no guessing. Your LinkedIn should work for you. If it’s not, it’s time to adjust. If you're ready to level up, let’s position you for the roles you actually want.

As creators, we walk a fascinating line: building & nurturing our personal brand while contributing to the growth of the companies we work for. It’s a balancing act, and when done thoughtfully, it can benefit both you and your employer. I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. Here are a few key principles to consider: Start with Alignment: Your personal brand should reflect your unique voice, passions, and expertise. At the same time, ensure your values align with your company’s mission. This synergy builds authenticity, helping you shine as a thought leader while amplifying your company’s vision. Add Value Both Ways: Your personal content isn’t just about self-promotion – it’s a chance to highlight industry trends, solve problems, and share knowledge. When your audience sees you as a trusted voice, it reflects positively on the organization you represent. The more value you provide, the stronger your brand and your company’s reputation become. Be Transparent About Your Dual Role: It’s okay to let your audience know that you’re a creator who’s also part of a larger mission. A simple acknowledgment, such as, “In my role at FinLocker, I’ve learned the value of engaging early journey first-time homebuyers", builds credibility and reinforces your connection to your employer without overshadowing your individuality. Prioritize Consistency: Whether you're sharing insights under your name or your company’s banner, make sure your message is consistent. Both brands should feel complementary – not competitive. Think of it as two interconnected streams feeding into the same river. Use Your Brand to Build Bridges: Your personal platform can help you connect with other professionals, clients, and opportunities that can ultimately benefit your company. And your company’s resources can enhance your ability to create impactful content. When both sides grow, it’s a win-win. Ultimately, this balance is about mutual growth. Your personal brand showcases the unique skills and perspectives you bring to the table, while your work for your company demonstrates your ability to drive results and collaborate with a larger team. The takeaway? Don’t think of it as “choosing” between your brand and your company. Think of it as a partnership where both grow stronger together. How do you balance your personal brand with your company’s goals?

I remember I was heading into a board meeting when our office janitor, Mr. Ellis, stopped me. He said, "Your name tag's upside down." My first instinct? → Brush it off. → Pretend I didn't need help. → Protect my pride. Instead, I paused and said, "Thanks for looking out for me." He smiled and replied, "Doesn't matter your title. You represent all of us when you walk into that room." That single moment with Mr. Ellis's big brown eyes shifted how I viewed leadership forever. Six months later, I stood in that same boardroom, presenting a critical strategy. Not because I knew everything. But because I walked in carrying the quiet confidence that comes from respecting everyone who makes our work possible, from the janitor to the CEO. And respect carries more weight than any title ever could, regardless of the room you're in. Here's what most professionals get wrong: They think career growth is about impressing those above them. They forget that everyone, from the janitor to the CEO, sees how you really show up. They underestimate the wisdom in people that society often overlooks. But the highest-impact leaders I've coached share one trait. They lead with respect. → They treat every person like they matter. → They know trust isn't reserved for titles. → They understand influence starts with how you make people feel. That's how careers grow, not just in skill but in humanity. The C.H.O.I.C.E.® Framework makes this real: Courage: Stand for dignity, even when no one's watching. Humility: Know you're not above anyone. Openness: Learn from every voice. Integration: Turn respect into everyday actions. Curiosity: Ask people about their stories. Empathy: See the person behind the role. Here's how to start leading with respect and grow your career: ✅ Start small. → Thank someone whose work often goes unseen. → Respect is built in micro-moments that matter. ✅ Listen deeply. → Instead of dismissing someone's input, ask: → "What do you see that I might be missing?" ✅ Model humanity. → Show others how to treat people well, no matter their title. → Respect shapes culture and careers. The more senior you become, the more your treatment of junior staff defines you. Your peers judge your character not by how you handle power but by how you treat those without it. 💭 Who's someone "behind the scenes" who taught you about leadership? ♻️ Tag someone who leads with humanity. ➕ Follow Loren Rosario - Maldonado, PCC, for career coaching that's human to the core.

When everything is the same, Brand is everything. Let’s play with a thought experiment: In a truly perfect market, branding should not exist. No differentiation. No price control. No customer loyalty. Just one identical product sold by many players at a fixed price. Sounds clean. But also completely detached from reality. Almost like a Black Mirror episode… The Theoretical Paradox: Branding has no place in perfect competition - Products are identical - Buyers have full information - No business has pricing power - Under this model, branding is irrational. Useless. Any marketing effort is a waste of money because buyers already know all products are the same and will pick the cheapest. There is no choice to make. So if branding is economically impossible here… why do we see branded water, branded salt, and branded milk? No market is truly perfect. Ever. Real-life buyers: - Aren’t fully informed - Rely on emotional shortcuts - Don’t always optimise, they satisfice (thanks, Herbert Simon) Even in industries close to perfect competition (B2B), branding thrives by: - Reducing perceived risk (trust) - Offering lifestyle alignment (identity) - Providing a memory shortcut (mental availability) Morton Salt didn’t win by being saltier,  it won by being unforgettable. Liquid Death turned water into rebellion, not hydration. Slack didn’t win on features, it won by branding work as fun, fast, and human. Oatly made oat milk weird, loud, and proudly anti-corporate. Who Gives A Crap made toilet paper feel cheeky, ethical, and worth talking about. Let’s get more real: The Role of Branding in Highly Competitive Markets 1 - Differentiation is a Survival Strategy When features are indistinguishable, innovation is hard to defend, storytelling, emotion and memory step in. Branding manufactures difference where none exists. 2 - Customer Loyalty Beats Race-to-the-Bottom Pricing A loyal customer is less sensitive to small price differences. That’s a margin win. 3 - Perception Drives Premium A brand with trust equity can charge more even in commoditised sectors. Just ask Evian. 4 - Brands Reduce Decision Friction We don’t want to evaluate every choice every time. Brands give us shortcuts and today we need them more than ever… Strategic Moves for Leaders: For CEOs: Compete on brand, not price. Find a purpose customers care about and tell that story consistently. For CMOs: Treat branding as demand creation. Lead gen without memory-building is wasted budget. For CFOs: Brand equity isn’t fluff…it’s a long-term value. Track it like any other asset. So: If you sell in a market where everyone claims the same features, why should a customer pick you? Because when products look the same, the brand becomes the choice. Ask yourself: What are you branding: a commodity or a conviction?

Your resume is a story. Not a checklist. But most designers treat it like a grocery list: → “Did this. Worked there. Improved X.” That’s not a story. That’s a to-do list. Here’s how to flip it: 1. Start with your unique narrative → “Self-taught UXer who pivoted from marketing, now designing frictionless ecomm experiences.” 2. Show growth and results — not just roles → “Started as a UX Intern at XYZ. Led a 6-person team within 18 months, increasing sales by 30%.” 3. Frame each project like a mini case study → Context: What was the problem? → Action: What did you do? → Result: What changed because of your work? Example: Before: “Worked on mobile app design.” After: “Redesigned mobile app for ShopEasy, reducing user drop-offs by 40%.” 4. Use metrics as anchors → “Boosted conversion by 15%” hits harder than “Improved UX.” → “Cut support tickets by 30%” is more memorable than “Enhanced UI.” Your resume isn’t just a list of what you did. It’s a snapshot of who you are, how you think, and what you can do. Are you telling a career story… or just making a checklist? Narrative or noise — which one stands out?

I wrote What’s Your Worth because I kept seeing the same pattern over and over again. Smart, capable people doing great work… and still feeling stuck. Still waiting for the next role, the next promotion, the next “tap on the shoulder” to move their career forward. The reality is, careers don’t work the way they used to. Your 9–5 alone is no longer enough to open doors. Not because your work isn’t good, but because discovery has changed. People form opinions about you long before they meet you. They Google you. They LinkedIn you. They look for how you think, not just where you’ve worked. That’s what personal branding actually is. Not aesthetics. Not being an influencer. It’s having control over your career narrative instead of leaving it to algorithms, assumptions, or chance. When you build visibility around what you’re good at, what you care about, and the problems you know how to solve, something shifts. Your career becomes portable. Opportunities come to you. You stop relying on a single company or title to define your worth. I didn’t set out to build a personal brand. I was just sharing what I was learning and building. Over time, it opened rooms and conversations that my 9–5 alone never could. That’s why I put together a detailed LinkedIn Growth Playbook, to help professionals build real career leverage through visibility. If you’re thinking long-term about your career and want more control over where it goes, you might find it useful: https://lnkd.in/ePQg3K5K

Your Personal Brand is Your Career Story: Write It Well Early in my journey as a career coach, I worked with someone who had the skills and experience but felt invisible in the job market. We quickly realized that the issue wasn’t just about qualifications—it was about how they were presenting themselves. We started by focusing on a simple but powerful idea: *What story does your career tell?* It wasn’t just about listing jobs or achievements; it was about showcasing the unique value they brought to every role. This meant highlighting their passion, problem-solving skills, and resilience. With some thoughtful changes, everything started to click. Their resume, LinkedIn profile, and even their conversations began to reflect a consistent and authentic personal brand. Suddenly, they weren’t just another candidate—they were someone with a clear story. The moral of the story? ✨ Your career isn’t just a series of job titles; it’s a narrative that only you can tell. Make sure it reflects who you are and what you stand for. ✨ Ensure your personal brand is consistent across all platforms—resume, LinkedIn, and in person. This builds trust and makes your brand memorable. ✨ Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Your personal brand should reflect the real you—your strengths, passions, and even your quirks. ✨ Your personal brand isn’t fixed. As you grow in your career, let your brand evolve with you. I’ve seen how a well-crafted personal brand can open doors and create opportunities. Remember, you’re the author of your career story. Write it well. 📌 What steps will you take today to start shaping your personal brand?

In a world full of talent, your personal brand is your most valuable asset, which makes you unforgettable. You can be brilliant at what you do, deeply experienced, highly skilled… But if you are not visible to the right people, no one can see your value. That’s why investing in your personal brand is no longer optional. It shapes how people perceive you, trust you, hire you, promote you, and recommend you; often before you ever enter the room.
